The Yarra Valley cool climate focus allows SOUMAH to specialise in wine styles and varieties typical of northern Italy as well as south-eastern France. Our Hexham vineyard on the Warramate foothills is the mainstay of production, although we do look for small parcels of premium fruit from other vineyards to bring additional Single Vineyard wines to the market. Our most awarded wines are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with recent recognition for our Viognier and Syrah as well as a passion for northern Italian varieties of Nebbiolo, Brachetto, Pinot Grigio and Savarro (or Savagnin).
SOUMAH is proudly a 5-Star Winery according to Halliday Wine Companion.
AWARD-WINNING WINES
Our first vintages attracted many accolades including our exclusive Savarro winning consecutive trophies at the 2011 and 2012 Federation Square Wine Showcase as well as gathering not less than 14 medals and trophies.
As our wine flight expands, we continue to focus on styles from northern Italy including Savarro, Pinot Grigio, Ai Fiori (Rosata), Brachetto, Marzemino, Nebbiolo and Barbera as well as the eastern French varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Viognier.
